Function
We are looking for a proactive System Engineer to provide end‑user support and administer the IT environment. The role focuses on ensuring the stability and reliability of the infrastructure, strengthening group compliance and integration, and delivering an excellent end‑user experience.
You will be part of a small, hands‑on IT team, giving you exposure to a broad range of technologies and responsibilities across all aspects of IT.
This role is primarily based in Huizingen, with one day per week spent in Perwez. Other countries where Derbigum operates are also included in the scope; however, on-site presence will depend on ongoing projects (the Netherlands, France, Italy, Sweden, Norway, and Denmark).
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain and administer IT environment (servers, switches, firewall, mail filter, … )
- Manage patching and updates for servers, applications, and end‑user devices
- Maintain and continuously improve IT group compliance
- Take ownership of IT-related projects
- Ensure the continuity and reliability of the server architecture
- Provide 2nd/3rd Line support for end users and workplace services
- Identify, document, and remediate security risks
Profile
Required Skills & Experience
- Minimum 4-5 years of experience in a similar role
- Strong end‑user support capabilities
- Experience with patch management and deployment tools (e.g., Tanium)
- Solid understanding of backup technologies (Veeam)
- Good understanding of network functionality
- Experience with vulnerability management tools (e.g., Qualys)
- Basic knowledge of VoIP
- Hands-on experience with Windows Server and its various roles
- Proficiency with Microsoft 365
- Knowledge of Microsoft Entra (Azure AD)
Nice to have
- Experience with Power BI
- Experience with CRM systems
- Familiarity with Microsoft Intune
- Basic knowledge of SQL
